Bethany Beach Beginnings
Remember, remember the fifth of November, has it been a month already? It took Guy Fawkes Day to remind me. The pictures are up, but I need to write about our --- week at the beach. Gerry Lynch (Red Dragon Kenpo Studios of Ireland) had asked me to create a venue to test our students and associates for various Brown and Black belt ranks. The idea was to create a test outside the various influences of American, European, and Irish politics --- Kenpo politics. It was a perfect assignment for a guy whose website is, by design, devoid of organizational affiliation. As Gerry, Liam Brady, and I kicked the idea around we knew there needed to be one more idealist, one man who would be a perfect fit --- Professor Richard Matthews of Great Britain! Richard Matthews is a bloke who is always willing to stand up and be counted when there is a worthwhile challenge ahead. We all knew that we could depend on him for honest feedback and an independent perspective. Richard graciously accepted our invitation and the die was cast.The test and the certificates had to be as unusual as the concept. The certificates read like this
